Satomi no Nazo

Yumewaka is a young boy who lives in a small town with his mother and his pet dog Lovely. One day while out fishing at the beach, he finds a strange jar and takes it home and shows it to his mom. When Yumewaka wakes up the following day, his mother is gone, leaving only a letter telling him to seek out a doctor in a nearby town. And so Yumewaka and his dog set out on an adventure that will take him across the reaches of space and time.

Satomi no Nazo is a classic-style JRPG in the tradition of Dragon Quest, with the player controlling a party of up to four characters, exploring various locations from a top-down view, and fighting in turn-based battles to strengthen their characters and advance the story. The battle system uses a unique streamlined control system, in which the face buttons will immediately attack the enemy in a particular position, while the shoulder buttons allow for healing and the X button will swap attack types. Character growth is somewhat similar to Final Fantasy II, where the more a certain type of action is used, the more experience it gains, which in turn determines attribute growth and character class.
