Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition

This Enhanced Edition is an updated version of the original Divinity: Original Sin. For owners of the original PC version it is provided for free, replacing the original version and it also carries over the extras from the collector’s edition. For Xbox One and PS4 it is the first version of the game for the platforms.

It adds new content to the game including new quests, locations, combat styles and changes to the crafting system. There is a reworked storyline with many new voiced dialogue lines. The cooperative multiplayer is updated to add split-screen support. There is a new interface for the console version and the PC version has full controller support. There are also enhancements to the graphics and animations, sounds and visual effects. Two new game modes are the Explorer mode (focus on the story instead of the combat) and a difficult Tactician mode with new encounters, monsters and puzzles. A Honour mode also exists, offering a single save game, which will be erased if the entire party dies.

Divinity: Original Sin is a role-playing game that harks backs to an earlier generation of the genre using an isometric view, turn-based combat, extensive crafting options, a complex story with variable dialogue, and a focus on systems in the game world for the player to shape instead of scripting the experience. Set in the Rivellon world, Original Sin takes place 12 centuries before Divine Divinity, the first game in the saga, and thousands years after Divinity: Dragon Commander.

Many centuries ago, a powerful magic called The Source was used to heal people and make good, but it happened that The Source became tainted, and the Sourcerers started to use The Source to hurt and destroy. The Council of Seven, the rulers of Rivellon, outlawed usage of The Source and send Source Hunters to investigate each time Source usage is suspected, and to eliminate the menace. You play two Source-Hunters sent by the Council to the city of Cyseal, where Councillor Jake was murdered.

While you can play alone and control the two characters and their companions, the game is made with cooperative gaming for two players in mind. The dialog options you choose, and the actions you make modify your reputation, and therefore, affects how people will react. Combat in the game is turn-based, with action points, spells combos, and friendly fire.
