Mirkwood Forest

Mirkwood Forest is a Roguelike-like game. What I mean is that it is a text-mode, randomly generated RPG game, but it lacks many of the other familiar tropes of the genre. In this game you generate your character, then proceed through a truly randomly placed map (there are no recognizable rooms/structures) and attempt to escape Mirkwood Forest. The included MS Word documentation is basically required reading since there is no in-game help. It explains what all of the characters represent, and how to play the game. It seems interesting but has a high barrier of entry, and seems like it was never fully finished, although it’s fully playable in its current state.
