Quest 1

Quest 1 is an early role-playing game for multiple systems.

Players can be randomly assigned a character, or can create them by defining their strength, dexterity, health, experience, starting gold, and whether they are an elf, dwarf, or human.

The goal is to explore a series of 58 interconnecting dungeon rooms which are graphically displayed on the screen. The player can move about the rooms collecting treasures and battling monsters. The player accumulates gold, and experience as they advance. There is a bazaar located in the first room where the player can purchase equipment for their journey, including: holy water, healing potions, arrows, and magic arrows. The player can return to the starting marketplace at any time to replenish supplies.

Monsters are displayed one at a time on the screen as letters, and move immediately towards the player. Players can engage in melee combat, or can fire regular or magic arrows at enemies. Magic arrows will instantly kill an enemy. Once the monsters in a room are destroyed, they to not respawn.
