SpellForce 2: Dragon Storm

The magic portals, which allow the people of Eo to travel between the shattered islands, are about to fail. As the Shaikans begin to investigate what happens to the portals, they discovered the ruins of an ancient race called the Shapers.

They are also called the children of god and were the first to walk on Eo. But when they had everything discovered on Eo, they made the big mistake to look beyond this world and discovered the essence of the magic in the world of Eo. This discovery was so overwhelming that their culture was thrown into madness and war. This threatened to destroy Eo completely. So the second ancient race walked into the light and destroyed the Shapers once and for all: The Dragons.

Now the Shaikans discover that two of the Shapers survived the great war and were sleeping deep under the earth. As the Shaikans investigate more closer, they wake up one of them and a new evil with the force of magic that was assumed to be long dead, begins to unleash it’s armies over the world again. Unable to defeat the ancient on their own, the Shaikans begin their search for the Ones that already did it once…

The first add-on to SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars adds the Shaikan-faction with three new playable races to the game with their own new single-player campaign. The Shaikans themselves are a race of humans which have the blood of the dragons pumping through their veins. In addition there are the Dragonkins and the Blades which all have their own new units like the powerful Dragon-Titan. The new faction has also their own skill-tree which can be accessed after you’ve already spend three skillpoints in the two original trees Combat and Magic. This tree contains e.g. summoning spells for your hero which allow him to summon a loyal pet to his side.

The game also adds item-sets to the game. If you find enough items of one set you gain an additional bonus depending on the set. You can now also craft your own items out of different materials you stumble upon during your journey through Eo.

Besides new maps for multiplayer and free game there’s also a new mode called “Arena Quest”. In this mode you’ve a small group of heroes (which need to be at least level 30) which have to fight many enemies in order to find a powerful weapon which then allows you to defeat a great foe in the Arena. There are also new Player vs. Player maps which feature the new mode “King of the Hill” in which only parties of heroes fight against each other.
