The House of Usher

House of Usher is a horror-themed action/adventure game.

You stand before the crumbling edifices of the House of Usher. Passing by the staring alabaster lions, there is an ominous creak as the front door opens by itself. The house wants you.

Played from a top-down perspective, the player’s goal is to explore the many rooms of the House of Usher. The player has until dawn, represented by a timer which counts down from 1000, to solve the mystery of the House of Usher, gather 1000 treasure or courage, and escape the house. The player is armed with a gun that has limited bullets, which can be used to destroy enemies. The player can pick up items, weapons, armor, and treasures during their expedition, but must carefully control their limited weight resource. Enemies randomly appear on the screen, and are typically destroyed in a single shot.
