Boulder Dash

As far as game plots go, having your dad tell you on his death bed to finish his adventure is pretty deep. That’s the fate that has befallen Rockford, whose old man wants him to do what he never could and find the Secret Jewels of the Six Worlds. Rockford is a miner, and his adventure takes him through a series of mines full of diamonds and enemies. This game’s all about gravity: while you can dig your way through all directions as you explore each level, if you dig the ground out from under a gem or rock it’ll fall, killing anything underneath it (including you). Initially straightforward, the game gets trickier as it starts forcing you to trigger huge rockfalls and release fast enemies by collecting the gems blocking them.

Boulder Dash and it’s sequels have been released on over 25 systems throughout the years.
