Street Heroes

Street Heroes, one of Sanchen’s final releases, does some genuinely impressive things with the NES hardware. It’s a blatant Street Fighter knock-off, with eight playable characters, all of whom seem to be based on different types of historical warrior. There’s a surprising amount of sampled speech in Street Heroes, and given the limitations of the NES and some iffy controls, it actually manages to deliver a fighting game that isn’t a clunky mess.
