Sworn

Sworn is a roguelike that combines cooperative multiplayer with Arthurian mythology, allowing one to four players to battle corrupted knights and reclaim a fallen Camelot. Gameplay centers on procedurally generated runs across themed regions of Avalon. Each run consists of combat chambers, elite encounters, and boss fights against corrupted Knights of the Round Table, such as Gawain. Between battles, players can interact with legendary figures like Merlin, Guinevere, and Nimue, who provide narrative context and mechanical benefits. Blessings from the Fae Lords, including Titania and Oberon, act as randomized power-ups, offering over 200 modifiers that can be combined into different builds.

Progression is twofold: within each run, characters gain new weapons, spells, and blessings that shape their abilities; between runs, permanent upgrades are unlocked using resources like fairy embers, thread, and moonstone. Players begin with the Vigilante class and can unlock additional archetypes such as the Rook, Spectre, and Monk, each with distinct playstyles. Cooperative play allows teams to combine class abilities and blessings for synergistic builds.

The game emphasizes replayability through randomized room layouts, varied enemy waves, and steep difficulty scaling between standard encounters and bosses. Runs can be short or extended depending on success, and the hub area serves as a progression anchor where upgrades and narrative interactions occur.

Sworn’s presentation uses a stylized, comic-inspired aesthetic influenced by the work of Mike Mignola. Character and enemy designs emphasize bold outlines and mythological motifs, while combat effects and animations are heavily stylized. The game supports both solo play and drop-in/drop-out online co-op.
